Tamara Walcott is a 37 year old divorced mother of two who decided to take charge of her life in 2018. Weighing 415 pounds Tamara found herself morbidly obese, with a food addiction that jeopardized not only her health but her life. Realizing something had to change Tamara turned to lifting as an outlet to release the stressors of life while learning discipline and control. In just one year Tamara was able to lose over 100 pounds which she attributes to her mindset shift, and perseverance.
Throughout Tamara's journey she has mastered balance, raising two children, working a 9-5, running a business and training 3-4 times a week. Her journey has inspired countless women and single moms to be confident in their skin, take control of their lives and get it done.
In just three short years Tamara has competed in 7 competitions of which she has won 6 and now holds the record for the heaviest deadlift in the world by all women! Her achievements and sensational story has been shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Sports Illustrated, Barbend and more.
Tamara's future as a sports icon has just begun. She will continue her powerlifting journey and has plans to break another world record in the early 2022.
